About Boston Uncut
Boston Uncut is Boston news told the way people actually talk about it, with every fact backed up.
We cover Boston and Cambridge first. That's the main feed and that's where most of our stories live. After that comes the rest of Massachusetts, then the nation, then the world.
What we do
Most of what you read here, around 70%, is original. We go into the public records ourselves: city 311 data, police incident reports, building permits, court filings, budgets, meeting minutes. We pull out the stories nobody else is telling, or the angle everybody else skipped. The rest are short summaries of big stories from other outlets, always credited and linked back to the original reporting.
We also run a Music section with magazine-style features on Boston artists: where they came from, what they've put out, and what they're doing now.
How we keep it straight
- Every fact has a source. Each story lists its sources with clickable links, so you can check us.
- Originals show their work. Every Uncut Original has a "How we reported this" box explaining exactly which records we used and how we counted.
- Allegations are labeled. If somebody's accused of something, we say "accused" or "alleged" until a court or official finding says otherwise.
- No made-up quotes. We never put words in anybody's mouth. Quotes come from the record or from the outlet we credit.
- Real photos only. Our photos are real, licensed shots of real places, credited on every page. We don't use AI images as news photos.
